We are very happy that our kids are in Bedford Montessori School. Before sending our kids to this school we did our own research. We felt that this school's main goal is allowing the children to be self-directed and self-disciplined, and this is the makeup of the entire program. We were very convinced after talking to them that they give cultural importance, which was very important for us.
Bedford Montessori School is a neighborhood school comprised of diverse families. Children are exposed to a variety of languages and cultures. I have developed individual, unique relationships with teacher, staff, and other parents that enhance our family's experience. Everyone has been helpful and respectful. My children are learning academic skills in addition to good manners and polite behavior. We are pleased with this school and we feel so lucky to have this school in our town. I look forward to the coming years.

My son has been enrolled with Bedford Montessori for almost 3 years. As a full-time working mother, I knew I needed to find a place where my son could bond with his teachers, would receive both structure and fun, and will be able to learn at his natural level. I have checked out all the pre-schools in the Bedford area. What attracted me to Bedford Montessori was the small, intimate, well-located facility, the director's approach and philosophy, and the teachers' warmth and nurturing attitudes.
All the children, from the very smallest to the very oldest are exposed to a variety of activities and all are included, as is age-appropriate. All children are appreciated for their unique gifts, and activities are tailored to their individual development needs. After being in the Montessori program for 3 years, I often think how fortunate I have been to have such a wonderful place for my son to spend his time while I have to be at work. Nothing can be more comforting for a working "away from the home" parent than to know their children are being well cared for by people who have the same values, hopes and dreams for their children as they do.

Our son loves going to school every day. He loves his teachers. We love the multicultural lessons that he learns and the parent involvement. The school follows the Montessori philosophy and educational approach of "learning by doing." The school also teaches emotional and social skills, fostering the development of indent, polite, gracious, and responsible children. It feels like a community in which parents are valued and involved. The teachers always listen and help me through challenges. I highly recommend Bedford Montessori. I encourage anyone with preschool aged children to visit and observe students in the classroom environment.

Little Charitha is enjoying her holidays with her visiting cousins but she DOES miss her school very much. She keeps talking about BMS incessantly. We were at the Museum of Fine Arts yesterday. It made us proud when she mentioned that her class is studying Henri Matisse (said with precise French pronunciation at that). She loved making crafts there and visiting the Impressionist section with plenty of art by Monet, an artist she is already familiar with and they will be studying in January.

I am very happy to say that Ravi has been enjoying his time at Bedford Montessori. I wasn't sure at first how he would acclimate to it, but he has and he is thrilled to be there. It is said that what a child learns in his first few years is most important. We truly believe Ravi is building a sound foundation for learning. In turn, we hope this foundation will help guide him in the future at other institutions and settings.

When Rachel was three, after she had learned her letters and started to learn to recognize her numbers, I sat down with her with the idea that we would learn the sounds that letters make. I tried books, Leap Frog toys, puzzles, paper and crayons—nearly everything I could think of. Rachel went back to play with her farm animals. She wasn’t even the slightest bit interested. I tried a few times a week for about a month with no luck at all, so when I realized that I was quickly becoming “letters mom”, and that neither of us was having too much fun with it, I decided that she just wasn’t ready. The next month she started school at Bedford Montessori, and within six months, she was not only associating sounds with letters, she was able to read very beginning books. I don’t know if it’s the teachers at BMS, the Montessori method, or if it’s just being around kids who like learning, and teachers who know how to and love to teach preschoolers.
Whatever it is, it really worked for my daughter. She’s made wonderful friends at BMS, she loves her teachers, she’s heard the most wonderful stories at BMS in the book group, and she’s learned so much. I’m really glad we discovered your school and I know Rachel is too.

When searching for a school for our daughter, we had two specifics on which we would not budge: a warm and caring environment, and a program that would allow our daughter to be a child with opportunities for her to be challenged when she was ready. BMS surpassed those expectations within weeks of her enrollment. Not only does she love to learn, but she's self-motivated, respectful of children and adults, and feels safe and cared for. The environment at BMS has helped make her confident, happy, and curious about the world. In addition, she was reading and doing multiplication at the age of four, with absolutely zero pressure from us.
