Bedford Montessori School was founded in 1984 and provides a warm, friendly and creative learning environment for children from the town of Bedford and surrounding communities. Our Pre-primary program serves students age 18 months-3 years, and our Primary program serves students age 3-6 years, all of whom work together in mixed-age classrooms.
The curriculum at Bedford Montessori School is based on the philosophy and work of Dr. Maria Montessori. The classrooms are equipped with a wide choice of materials that encourage active exploration and self-education. Our bright sunlit classrooms are beautifully appointed with age appropriate activities, child-size furniture and access to our outdoor play areas.
The teaching staff are skilled, certified professionals, dedicated to providing a caring and stimulating environment for the children in their care. The children are encouraged to develop a sense of order, an ability to concentrate, and the coordination to handle materials with increased skill. They also learn independence and develop a positive self-image. In all classrooms, the children are free to make their own work choices and receive individual and group lessons from the teachers based on their interests and level of development through the traditional three year cycle. Our goal is to enable children to develop to their full potential and to be the best they can be.
