Curriculum

Kindergarten

Students at our school entering into their Kindergarten year within the primary program, remain in the same class and are able to explore in more depth some of the concepts to which they have previously been introduced. Students who demonstrate readiness may engage in a wide range of activities including:

  • Exchanging in the four math operations
  • Working with fractions
  • Performing mental arithmetic
  • Solving math problems
  • Completing sentence structure and grammatical exercises
  • Writing creative stories
  • Completing spelling and dictation exercises
  • Reading chapter books

Kindergarten students also participate in additional enrichment activities including a daily Book Group, Spanish and other STEM outreach programs. The Kindergarten group understands that mastery of tasks in the classroom requires persistence and repetition and step up to take on the responsibility of being a classroom leader and role model.
